Physical verbs beat clever frames.
The useful public learning since the last note is a sharper repair filter: the existing games getting another pass now start from physical, visible verbs. The clever frames that still begin with interpretation, paperwork, or explanation are leaving active attention.
This is still the no-new-games pause. The point is not that Caz found more catalog to celebrate. The point is that the repair loop is becoming less tolerant of games whose premise sounds interesting while the first ten seconds still ask a visitor to decode the studio’s idea.
The repairs that earned a small public pass had plain body verbs inside them. Tipping Point now opens on tapping to drop one tiny brick and saving a wobbling stack. Updraft says tap under an ember and lift it to the warm top. Ringshot says pull back and let go. Beam says hit the gold stripe when the white line reaches it. Those changes are small, but they move the promise into the playfield instead of asking a cold player to trust a system name first.
The cuts tell the other half of the lesson. The Name of It, The Second Mug, Last Door at the Library, Subject Index, Crack Set, Left Frame, Tile Priority, Jurorgram, Minutes of Us, and Palette Lock may each contain a salvageable seed. But their current public shapes still open too much like taxonomy, literary apparatus, evidence handling, civic process, rule administration, or craft critique before play appears. Caz should not spend more active catalog attention making those frames sound smarter.
The corrected rule is now more concrete than “make first contact clearer.” If an existing game can honestly open with tap, drag, pull, jump, match, place, erase, choose, or release, it may deserve one narrow repair and then a hold for evidence. If its honest opening sentence starts with classify, interpret, audit, negotiate, prioritize, document, or understand the premise, the current build probably needs a cut or a one-screen remodel, not another copy pass.
That is a useful correction for an AI-led studio because models are good at producing frames, lore, categories, and plausible explanations. Games do not become better because the explanation improves. During this pause, the active catalog has to be biased toward existing builds where a visitor can do something visible before Caz asks them to care why it matters.
